Christmas Mini Session - Guide

To help you get the best experience possible, we have created a Mini Christmas preparation guide to ensure we have a wonderful time and a successful shoot together!

Key Information


  • Location: Cartron, Knockdrin. Mullingar N91 RT9Y
  • Session time - 30 minutes from arrival to departure.
  • Arrival - Please arrive 5 minutes before your scheduled slot.
  • Late Arrival - Coming late will reduce your time in front of the camera resulting in fewer photos. If you are 10 minutes late you will be given the option to pick one set as we will not have time to photograph both sets. If you are 20 minutes late only one family photo will be taken.
  • Reschedule - Due to the nature of the session we will not be able to reschedule your session. Deposits will be given back only if 48 hours notice is provided
  • Attire - Come dressed and ready to shoot! (The Christmas Swing will be the first set).
  • Changing - This year one casual Christmas outfit will be sufficient. But if you want to bring christmas PJ’s you will have roughly 5 minutes to change into your Pj’s for the Christmas bed Set. Delays in changing will impact your time on the set. I will work with you the best I can to ensure we get through this quickly.
  • Payment - Fee balance is payable on the day, before the start of the session. Please have the correct amount with you in an envelope with your name on it as we will not have access to a card machine and may not have change. Online payment will not be accepted on the day.
  • Cancellations & No Shows: If for any extreme reasons you need to cancel your session please contact me at least 48 hours before your session. Deposits will not be refunded for any cancellations without a 48 hour notice.
  • Alleriges & Dietary requirements: We will be serving hot chocolate and cookies after your session. Please be advised that you must take responsibility for you, your childs & your family's food allergies or intolerances.


What to Wear

Come dressed and ready to shoot! (The Christmas Swing will be the first set).

Outfits: This year one outfit would work but you can bring Christmas PJs for the bed set. We recommed coordinating your outfits but not matching them. Our advised color palette is below.

Note: To make your photos extra special, dress in Christmas Casuals! Classic, timeless outfits in coordinating colors work wonderfully on camera and bring a touch of elegance to the photos. I recommend keeping it simple and not fancy this year - cozy knit jumpers, sweaters, casual dresses in the colors mentioned below will add a beautiful, timeless feel to your photos.

Accessories: Feel free to bring along a toy, Santa hats or anything Christmassy

Avoid: Silver, pinks, purples, light blue, lime green, oranges as these colors will not co-ordinate well with the set.

I also recommend that children do not wear character clothes (Superheros, Peppa pig, Cocomelon, Christmas characters etc)

Please ensure that your shoes are not dirty. Towels/rugs will be available to clean wet shoes. Wet shoes must be dried before stepping onto the sets.

Colors that work: This year red, green, creams and whites will work on The swing and bed sets however red is not recommended for the candy cane set.

Shoes: Please bring along the shoes you’d like to wear for your photoshoot and pop them on once you arrive at the studio. To keep the sets clean and beautiful for everyone, we will have towels and rugs available. If shoes are dirty, they will need to be cleaned before stepping onto the sets so your photos stay picture-perfect.

Note: Whites, Creams and Greens will be perfect for kids for the Candy Cane set. Reds are not recommended for the Candy Cane set.

Session Day


  • Upon arrival you will be greeted and shown into the studio so please come dressed and ready for the shoot.
  • This mini session will be approx 20-30 minutes long.
  • I will capture a variety of images of your children and family, and you will receive a gallery to choose from. There is no pressure for children to pose or smile at all times — natural, relaxed moments are always best.
  • We will begin the session at the Christmas Swing Set.
  • This year one Christmas casual outfit will be sufficient. But if you want to bring christmas PJ’s you will have roughly 5 minutes to change into your Pj’s for the Christmas bed Set.
  • Hot Cocoa and cookies will be served after your session.
  • You are more than welcome to sit and enjoy your treats or take them with you.
  • You may come across another family when you are arriving or leaving as sessions are scheduled before and after your session.
  • No mobiles: During the session you are not permitted to take any pictures with your mobile phone while I am shooting. It is a quick session and this will distract children and make them look away.
  • Please help us in maintaining the sets in their original condition, as there are upcoming sessions scheduled following yours.
  • Please ensure that everyone nails are cut/clean and hair is combed/styled.


After the Session


  • We will aim to have your gallery edited and ready within 3 weeks of our session.
  • You will receive your photos in an online gallery. This allows for the quickest delivery of the images for you to easily view and share your photos.
  • Your package includes 7 high resolution digital images.
  • You can purchase additional images for a fee of €20 per image.
