Thank you for giving me the privilege of photographing your beautiful baby!

This guide will help you prepare for your photoshoot session and hopefully answer any questions.

Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions.

Let's Dive In

The most important thing to remember is that your baby will be in charge of the session and will determine how the session goes. I will only do what your baby is comfortable and happy with. My sessions focus on the baby’s comfort, safety and happiness. My goal during our session is to have you sit back and relax and I will take care of the rest.

What is a Sitter Session?

A sitter session is a milestone photography session for babies who can sit up confidently on their own, usually between 6-10 months old. This stage is perfect for capturing your baby’s growing personality, adorable expressions, and new skills like sitting, clapping, and giggling. These sessions are fun, playful, and filled with sweet moments you’ll cherish forever.

What to Expect During the Session

  • Session Length: Typically lasts 45 minutes to 2 hour. Depending on how baby feels on the day. We take cuddle breaks and feeding breaks if needed, we do not rush the baby. Your baby is the boss of the session.
  • Studio & Props: My studio is fully equipped with beautiful backdrops, outfits, and props to create a timeless look for your little one’s photos.
  • Fun & Playful Atmosphere: I make sure your baby feels comfortable by incorporating fun sounds, toys, and interactions to encourage natural smiles and expressions.

What to Wear

I have a selection of adorable outfits available for your baby, including rompers, dresses, and neutral pieces that photograph beautifully. I would recommend you bring one outfit incase the ones I have do not fit and if you prefer to bring your own please feel free to, here are some tips:

  • Soft, neutral colors or pastels work best.
  • Avoid busy patterns, logos, or neon colors.
  • Avoid text or characters on clothes.
  • Textured fabrics like knits and linen photograph beautifully.

Preparing Your Baby

To ensure a happy, relaxed session, here are some tips:

  • Nap Time: Try to schedule the session around your baby’s best wake window.
  • Feeding: A well-fed baby is a happy baby! Feel free to feed your baby before the session, and bring extra snacks or milk if needed.
  • Favorite Toy or Comfort Item: If your baby has a favorite toy or comfort item, bring it along to help them feel at ease.
  • Keep It Fun: Babies pick up on emotions, so staying relaxed and playful will help them enjoy the session.

Parent & Sibling Involvement

While the focus is on your baby, I’m happy to capture a few family shots as well! If parents or siblings want to join in, coordinating outfits in neutral or soft tones will create a cohesive look.

What to Bring

  • Dress your baby in loose clothing to avoid upsetting them when undressing.
  • Bring a neutral-coloured outfit - Rompers are the best
  • Extra bottles of milk if bottle feeding
  • Extra diapers and wipes
  • Pacifier (even if not usually used). This will help sooth the baby during the session and is a game changer.
  • Baby’s blanket
  • Any special items or outfits you want to include in the photos.
  • Extra clothes for you and your partner (in case of spit ups and accidents).
  • Snacks and water for yourselves.
  • A couple of toys for siblings if they will be joining.

During the Session

  • On Arrival: If your baby is fed, we’ll start right away. If not, take your time to feed baby in the studio.
  • Safety: Your baby’s safety is my top priority. A parent will assist as a spotter as I like to be extra cautious and safe when it comes to your little one. We’ll stop the session if the baby shows any signs of discomfort or distress.
  • Temperature: The studio will be warm for the baby’s comfort. Dress lightly or in layers as you could get very warm.
  • Accidents & Mess: It's normal for babies to have accidents such as poop explosions and spit ups. Don't worry if that happens; I’m prepared, and everything is cleaned after each session.
  • Props: I have a variety of props, but you’re welcome to bring your own if it carries sentimental value. Please send a photo of any items at least two days before.
  • No cameras are allowed during the session. Leave that task to me.
